The countdown has begun and many stores, shops, warehouses and haberdasheries have already started to offer exciting bargains for the upcoming holiday season. Rapid True Value in keeping with tradition has kicked off their 'Great Paint Event', for the month of November customers will enjoy deep discounts on select paint brands in all thirteen locations islandwide. The company's annual paint sale takes place at this time of the year to capitalize on the excitement that is a part of the Christmas season. With persons in 'decorating mode', the company hopes that persons will take advantage of the attractive discounts being offered on the Rapid, E-Z Kare, Sherwin Williams and Berger brands of paint. "We are hoping this will get persons excited for Christmas and that they will come back as we have many other fabulous offers planned," states Marketing Manager, Donna Taylor-Wright.

The company has 'Colour Centres' (paint mixing machines) in nine locations, and offers colour matching capabilities to fulfil the varied needs of their customers. "We are excited to have this special facility available to customers, as they can take in any paint sample and have it matched! Whether it is from a swatch of fabric, a paint chip or a magazine...if you can dream it we can mix it. And customers can rest easy, because once we have mixed a colour for you it is stored in our system, so if you need more of the same colour six months or a year later we can easily access your information." states Mrs. Taylor-Wright.

This year the company has decided to 'brighten' the paint sale by hosting a series of free in-store painting demonstrations. The series titled "Paint Like the Pros" is in response to the numerous queries received over time from our customers. "This is something we are particularly excited about. It is an opportunity to give back something valuable to our customers. These presentations are geared at simultaneously educating and entertaining customers. So often we have customers who really have a difficult time when it comes to making painting decisions. Hopefully by the end of the seriest hey will find making those decisions that much easier." The "Paint like the Pros" series kicks off at Lane Plaza, November 10(1-2 pm), Ocho Rios, November 17 (11am - 12pm), Mandeville, November 24 (12-1pm) and ends in Montego Bay on December 1 (1-2pm). On hand will be a professional interior decorator who will be demonstrating different painting techniques, focusing on faux finishes. The presentations are done in conjunction with promotion partners Berger Paints, who will be offering advice on different types of paint and Fleetwood Jamaica Limited, who will be offering advice on brushes and rollers and a bonus free 3 inch roller with every purchase of a standard 9 inch roller set, and this offer is available exclusively at Rapid True Value stores. The "Paint like the Pros" series will be videotaped and aired on local channels so as to engage persons who are not able to attend.
