The more commonly used paint is Latex because it gives an excellent finish, is durable, gives good coverage, and is easy to use. It dries quickly and cleans easily with soap and water.
Oil-based paints are slow drying, not as durable and a solvent must be used for cleaning up.
Enamel paint contains more resin and colour pigments, giving it longer life and greater durability. It is used for high-traffic areas such as floors.
